During the 2010 flood- humanitarian disaster, the PHDF focused on strengthening the mental health and psychological well-being of flood-affected communities.
Psycho-Social Wellness focuses on available local resources and supports (for example, how to build on traditional, religious healing and community-wide social support practices); and ensuring equity, quality, fidelity, and sustainability for the deprived (for example, the elderly, people with disabilities, women and girls, and people with severe, pre-existing mental disorders). Patricia Omidian, a well-known humanitarian worker, visited South Punjab-Multan to equip the organizations and teams responsible for the psycho-social rehabilitation of flood victims. The PHDF team participated in this training and played a role in reviving the communities.
